Hickory
Hickory is a deciduous tree that belongs to the walnut family. The trees are mainly native to North America and Canada although some species originate from Asia. Reaching 50 to 100 feet (15 to 30 metres) in height at maturity with a spread of anywhere between 40 and 70 feet (12 to 21 metres), a hickory tree can live for many years. It is cultivated as a source of high-quality wood with some species producing edible nuts such as the pecan.
