Engineered floors

Engineered floors - all the benefits of a solid wood floor with none of the drawbacks! They're beautiful to look at, very simple to install, and incredibly easy to maintain.
With a 2.5mm - 4mm wear layer of wood bonded at right-angles to a softwood core with yet another softwood layer underneath, these floors are extremely stable. A lacquered floor has five coats of lacquer applied to the top surface, each one hardened by UV heat-treatment, making the surface extremely hard whilst retaining the individual character of the wood itself. An oiled floor is produced by applying oil to the top surface and allowing it to dry naturally or by UV heat-treatment. A 'brushed' floor goes through an additional process during manufacture to accentuate the natural grain of the wood. Laying an engineered floor though is an absolute doddle, thanks to the boards simply locking together to form a perfect floor every time. You don't need glue and your floor will look as though it's been laid by a professional!
